SIX EVICTED FROM THE NEXT MOVIE STAR REALITY SHOW

Needless to say eviction in reality shows is quite inevitable. Less than a month after the 2012 housemates of the Next Movie Star were ushered into the camp, six housmates have gotten the boot. The eviction didn't come at once. Four of the prospective actors, Alabi Folake, Tonia Ese Oria-Arebun, Ifovboa Ehijemen Jude and Esigbone Ejiro Kingsley, were the first set to bow out.

Just when the remaining housemates were trying to come to terms with this sudden turn of events, Chimezie Okeke and Million Santong, were evicted after recording low votes.

Explaining reasons for the eviction, the associate producer, Uche Sam-Anyamele said, "At this point, the housemates are aware that not all of them can make it to the finals; evictions have to happen and nobody is immune to it. More so, the fate of each housemate is in the hands of the teeming viewers of the show, not the organisers."

He said further that the evicted quartet failed to live up to expectations when it mattered most, which did not go unnoticed by viewers. "Their votes in the week under review were very low and therefore had to be evicted," Sam-Anyamele averred.

Speaking after the eviction, Ejiro, a 500 level student of University of Benin, said, "I didn't expect my journey here (NMS) to end so soon, but I must confess that I have gained a lot in the past few weeks; from the training and grooming to being in the House proper, it has been a worthwhile experience."

To Chigbufue Bridget, "It is all a game. Some people will lose and some will win, everybody cannot win the NMS."

The show is gradually getting into the final rounds, the remaining housemates have been digging into the depth of their artistry to ensure they remain in contention for the Brand New Jeep, cash prize, movie roles and other accoutrements that come with being winner of the Next Movie Star.

The NMS is broadcast on television stations across Nigeria like Galaxy, Silverbird, and MITV and many more.
