Kanu Nwankwo's second heart surgery successful

My heart skipped when I heard the news. So glad it was nothing serious. Former Super Eagles Captain and founder, Kanu Heart Foundation, Kanu Nwankwo over the weekend had his second (corrective) heart surgery at the Cleveland Hospital, Ohio, USA; the same hospital that handled the first surgery in 1997. Thankfully, the operation was successful and Papilo as he's fondly called is recuperating fast.

"He'll be back home in a few days time. I spoke with him Sunday afternoon and he confirmed he's in a stable condition." Onyebuchi Abia, Kanu Heart Foundation Co-ordinator said in a statement.

The Nigerian football legend who was among the recipients of the Nigeria Centenary awards tweeted a picture of his award today. "I thank God. Thanks for all your support and keep supporting." He added.
