Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has denied throwing tantrums at his teammates in the wake of his side's 1-0 defeat in the derby Atletico Madrid.

The Portuguese who was visibly angry after the clash yesterday was quoted
saying, "If everyone played at my level we would be in first place. " And expectedly, he came under fire for his harsh remarks.

Clearing the air on the matter, the 3-time World best footballer said his statement was completely taken out of context.

"My statements were misinterpreted after the match. I wasn't saying I'm better than others. I was just talking about the physical aspect and injuries. We had some tough losses like Pepe, Bale, Benzema, Marcelo and they did not allow us to offer our usual performance. I respect my teammates and I would never insult them. I don't believe I'm better than anyone else." He said.
