More celebrities seem to be taking a cool walk into politics. Actor cum director, Desmond Elliot is one of them. Even though he doesn't look like someone who would give politics a thought. Anyways, here are his reasons.

"The current situation is very pathetic. I feel God has helped me thus far and I want to give back through politics that will be favourable to the youths. The worst part of our national life is that the level of corruption has not allowed youths to understand what it means to live a meaningful life . Just because of lack of knowledge of what to do, we are being sidetracked. There are no jobs, and issues like these lead to frustration. A whole lot needs to be done on agriculture, every state in Nigeria needs to see how it can contribute to nation building. There's a lot that needs to be done."

When it comes to film-making, maverick producer Emem Isong is known for professionalism and creativity. Her latest offering, Apaye which means 'A Mothers' Love' is another classic. Above are behind-the-scene pictures of the film. From the stables of Royal Arts Academy (RAA), Apaye tells the story of a woman's quest to succeed against all odds, set in a community where the settlers never believed anything good could come from a loving woman who later grew into something of substance.

Directed by the renowned actor, Desmond Elliot, Apaye parades some of the best thespians in the industry; Kanayo O. Kanayo, Clarion Chukwurah, Belinda Effah, Mbong Amata, Millicent Jack, amongst others. The film is scheduled to premiere on March 7, 2014.
