Liverpool have triggered the release clause of Aston Villa's striker, Christian Benteke by offering the stipulated £32.5M
Benteke who joined Aston Villa from Genk in 2012 has scored 49goals in 101 appearances and also contributed to Villa's stay in the league last season with 12goals in 12 games.
Brendan Rodgers is believed to be after the 24year old to sort out the striking problem the club is facing following the injury of Sturridge and Balotelli's below par performance.
Christian Benteke who has two years left on his contract at Villa is expected to complete the move soon.
