English side, Manchester United have announced the signing of Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero. Romero was signed on a free transfer after having left Sampdoria earlier this summer.
The Argentina international goalkeeper has signed a three year contract with the option of a fourth season.

Romero is 28years old and has previously played under Van Gaal at AZ Alkamaar between 2007 - 2009. Van Gaal has expressed his delight to have Romero in the squad while also indicating that he could replace De Gea.
