Ukraine's all-time scorer, Andriy Shevchenko has been appointed as the country's national team coach. The Milan legend and 2003 Champions league winner takes over from former coach, Mikhail Formenko who resigned following a disastrous Euro 2016 outing.

The 39 year-old first match in charge of the team will be at home to Iceland in the 2018 World Cup Qualifier coming up in September 5. The former Chelsea striker was a one-time  Ballon d'Or winner (2004), he netted 48 goals in 111 international appearances for his country.
