Nigerian Internationals, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho have become the first Nigerians to make it to the 2016 Golden Boy Award shortlist. The Golden Boy Award is dedicated to honouring the best player below the age of 21 in the European nation’s cup division.

Other names included in the list include Tottenham's Dele Alli, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Andreas Christensen and Nathan, Leicester City’s Demarai Gray, Liverpool’s Marko Grujic and Manchester City’s Leroy Sane.

Iheanacho has made 30 appearances in the Premier League, scored 10 goals and made 4 assists. Iwobi on thr other hand has made 17 appearances, netted twice and delivered 3 assists.
