The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has berated the State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for allegedly sponsoring political killings in the State, and rushing to court to stop the sitting of the Commission of Enquiry set up by the State Government to investigate the killings.

"The news of the suit brought by Rivers PDP before Justice H. A. Nganjiwa of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt seeking to restrain the Commission of Enquiry set up by the Rivers State Government to investigate the political killings in the State did not come to us a surprise as we have been consistent in identifying PDP as the sponsor of these despicable murders. In reality, the suit is nothing but a self-indictment by the Rivers State PDP, which has by so doing erased any reasonable doubt that it is behind the political violence in the State that has sent close to 100 innocent APC members to their untimely grave," Rivers APC Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, said.

Ikanya, however, expressed disappointment that the revered Justice Nganjiwa fell for PDP's antics by granting the restraining order sought by the murderous party.

"We hold Justice Nganjiwa in high esteem and we wish to appeal to him to vacate this restraining order at the next adjourned date to enable the Commission of Enquiry do its work. We are talking of human life and we respectfully appeal to His Lordship not to create an escape route for murderers to get away with their atrocities," Ikanya said in a statement issued in the state capital, Port Harcourt.

He expressed confidence that Rivers PDP's desperate efforts to evade justice and to subvert the will of Rivers people and heighten insecurity, kidnapping and other criminal activities through the instrumentality of the court would eventually fail.

Rivers APC sympathised with the people of the State over their present ordeal, as the State is today back to the era of insecurity, kidnapping and killings due to the desperation of PDP to capture power at all cost. "All these are evils which the APC Government of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi eradicated, only for them to be brought back by the Rivers State PDP leadership. We appeal to the good people of Rivers State to endure this sad development for the few months PDP will be in power before it is kicked out through legal means," the statement said.

"The good people of Rivers State, particularly the survivors of those murdered in cold blood by PDP agents, can be assured that this evil party can only delay justice but cannot stop the avenging of the shed innocent blood. On our part, we are determined to ensure that justice is done in this matter and people who do not meant well for our State are not allowed to govern us no matter the conspiracy of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the outgoing PDP-controlled Presidency," Rivers APC added.

Former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu while speaking at a rally held yesterday for the Gubernatorial candidate of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode said the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu is not a member of the APC and can not speak on behalf of the party.

This is coming few days after the paramount ruler came under fire for threatening the Igbos in the state with death.

The APC chieftain mentioned that he is the first Yoruba governor to ever appoint an Igbo commissioner ‎and that the opposition party are making baseless accusations against the APC.

Tinubu said, "The Oba is not a politician. His job is to accommodate all political parties whether PDP, APC or SDP. So, what did he (Ubah) go and do at the palace? Is the Oba a politician?

"To you Igbo, don't we pay your children's school fees like others? Or is it the palace that pays for it? When we conducted an exam and a spelling competition, an Igbo boy, Ebuka, from Anambra, came first and he became the governor for one day.

"Those that won the competition three times in a row were Igbo. Ebuka was sent to Switzerland computer school and then Obafemi Awolowo University. We did not say he was an Igbo boy and he would not enjoy. He became an executive in Oando and he is now in Canada.

"Another boy, Felix, won and went to Switzerland and OAU. We paid his scholarship; we did not deny him because he is Igbo."

Arrangements have reached an advanced stage by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State to receive about 10,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who have indicated interest in joining APC. Rivers APC Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, disclosed this in a statement issued Tuesdayin Port Harcourt.

"Rivers APC is pleased to welcome these patriots in advance and to assure them that they have a found a home in the party of liberation. We are happy with their decision that Rivers State must not be allowed to play opposition politics in the incoming Federal Government of General Muhammadu Buhari and have fixed Friday, 10th April, 2015, to formally receive them at the APC State Secretariat at Forces Avenue, Port Harcourt," Ikanya said.

He described the decision of the mammoth crowd of PDP members to defect to APC as equivalent to the breaking of PDP's backbone in Rivers State. "With this development, it would be safe to say that Rivers State PDP Leader and gubernatorial candidate, Chief Nyesome Wike, is now a commander without troops.

Wike is irreversibly on his way to political oblivion and his fate shall become sealed on April 11 when he will be trounced by our governorship candidate, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, during the governorship polls," Ikanya added.

The Oyo State gubernatorial candidate of the Labour party, Adebayo Alao-Akala incurred the wrath of the All Progressives Congress party yesterday after posters bearing pictures of the former governor and the President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari with the caption "Sai Buhari, Sai Akala"  surfaced in Ibadan.

The Director of Publicity and Strategy of the Oyo State chapter of the APC, Olawale Sadare condemned the move and described it as a shameful act and desperation taken too far. He added that the party is confident that the incumbent Governor, Abiola Ajimobi will win a second term in office in the state.

"Not a few people found it unbelievable to see the picture of the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, on Alao-Akala's campaign posters. Since Wednesday evening when those disgusting posters were sighted in parts of Ibadan, a good number of concerned citizens have been expressing their amazement at the development.

"Meanwhile, the ruling APC in the state view the action of the sponsors of such obnoxious campaign materials as a desperation taken too far. It is indeed another in the series of grand delusion which most members of the opposition have been feeding the public with in their bid to hijack power and return the state to the era of bad governance, official corruption and impunity." He said

As the President-Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari prepares to assume office next month, the All Progressives Congress party has outlined their agenda for the country; their plans to tackle challenges and bring the desired change. Below is a press statement from Buhari's campaign organization

The spontaneous outpouring of emotions and celebrations that characterized the pronouncement of Muhammedu Buhari as the President-elect of Nigeria in major cities and towns across the country was clear evidence that the people wanted change.
The campaign theme of the Buhari-Osinbajo ticket resonated clearly amongst a nation that successfully transitioned from the erstwhile Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which had ruled Nigeria since 1999 to the All Progressives Party (APC) by a clear majority of almost 3 Million Votes.

More importantly, it also marked the first time that the world's most populous black country would unseat an incumbent president. Furthermore, it is the first time the so called progressives in the country will take control of the federal government. While the euphoria is clearly palpable within the citizens, the prognosis for the country is actually dim.
Insecurity had become rife - the kidnapping of 276 girls by the terrorist group Boko Haram has entered its 10th Month, and the economy is in doldrums, characterized by the freefall of the Naira in the past months. News of Buhari's election put the Naira in a rebound and the stocks gained almost 6.5% to wipe out months of decline.

So what exactly is Buhari promising? As a former ruler, he was known for his intransigent stand on Corruption - a bane in Nigerian society; and that was a banner issue for him during the campaign. As Buhari said, "If we don't kill corruption, corruption will kill us"; many expect the new government to thus put a halt to the culture of graft and public funds looting that has created a gulf between the super wealthy and the very poor.

Despite Nigeria's Oil riches, the country still suffers from abject poverty - Nigeria is home to about 110 million poor - which makes the country home to the largest number of poor people in Africa!
Buhari has pledged to tackle poverty by creating jobs and setting up social welfare schemes that cater to the poorest Nigerians. One of these schemes is a Conditional Cash Transfer that pays between N5000- N7500 monthly to 25 Million of the poorest Nigerians as long as they send their children to school and get them immunized. This program will be phased over the four year the sure of the administration.

Another program is to provide a free meal a day to children in all public primary schools in the country. This program is expected to:

- Reduce the number of out of school children in Nigeria ( the highest in the world) which currently stands at about 10.3 million.

- Improve the academic performances of the students as the will now be guaranteed at least one balanced diet a day.

- Stimulate the agricultural industry due to the massive demand this program will have on the sector.

They also intend to institute a National Health Insurance Scheme that will make basic health care services available to the people. To partake in the scheme NIGERIANS will be expected to pay between $3-$5 as yearly contribution.

Buhari's running mate and Vice President-elect Yemi Osinbajo is a Professor of Law who has served as Attorney General in Nigeria's commercial capital - Lagos State. Many are thus encouraged that the Rule of Law will take centre stage in a country where the rich can flout it with impunity.

His antecedents suggests that this tandem are equipped with the capacity and political will to begin to right the ship that is Nigeria and effect the necessary stimulus that will bring Nigerian reality closer to the potential she doubtless promises.

If that happens, there'll be more dancing in the streets.

Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Bode George is about to make good his promise of proceeding on exile if the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Maj-Gen Muhammudu Buhari (retd) wins the presidential election.

Speaking shortly after PDP's defeat, the chieftain said he has no business staying in the country since their plans of restructuring the economy have been thwarted.

"What will I be doing here? I can decide to go and live anywhere. Look at everyone surrounding him (Buhari). "So, I am not joking about it, what will I be doing here? At 70, what will I be doing here?

All we have been doing to restructure the country has been lost. We have been trying to ensure balance in the polity but all that has gone. What else will I be doing here?"

The deputy to Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, Mr Tele Ikuru has defected to opposition party, People's Democratic Party. Ikuru in a statement today described the All Progressives Congress Party as one founded on deception and falsehood.

"My dear People of Rivers State, I bring you honest and sincere greetings. Today, I address you out of the fullness of my heart.
Recall that in December 2013, out of extreme loyalty to my boss and friend, I joined the APC, along with other then disillusioned Rivers People.

"Ever since, as the true nature and motives of APC are unveiled, I have continued to twist and turn in extreme mental and emotional agony. The more I struggle to
belong, the more the Rivers man in me rejects the APC.

"After carefully studying, interacting and analyzing the leadership of the party, I have come to the sad conclusion that the APC is a party of rebels, insurgents and anarchists, clothed in robes of pretence and deceit. APC is a party founded on deception and it thrives on unholy propaganda and falsehood." He said.

Mrs Aishat Buhari, wife of the All Progressives Congress, APC's presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari while addressing the people of Edo State today asked Dame Patience Jonathan not to entertain fear of being jailed if her husband wins the election.

Recall that Mrs Jonathan told women in Tuesday not to vote for Buhari saying she isn't prepared to feed her husband in jail.

"These are digital women, not analogue." She began. "Each zone of the country has its peculiar problem. For me in this zone, girl-child trafficking should be considered one of our problems, though I know there is unemployment. Unemployment is the major factor that contributes to brain drain and also the girl-child trafficking. General Muhammadu Buhari is a leader who led Nigeria some decades ago and he is coming back now to sanitise the system,"

She continued, "For those that are campaigning, saying that he is coming to jail Nigerians, I don't know what their fear is. But they shouldn't be afraid, because we are all yearning for change.

The insecurity in the country, the very poor healthcare system, lack of education and other basic necessities that people are lacking I believe Nigerians need somebody like General Muhammadu Buhari now.

"Already, they have painted him black, using religion. I'm happy today that Nigerians realize that they use religion as a cover to loot Nigeria. Any politician who talks to you about religion is a liar, he only wants to loot the treasury and the little resources you ought to enjoy. So say no politics merging it with religion to deceive the people.

"I'm here today to let Edo women know that when my husband is elected into office as President, all these will be history. The insecurity, the girl-child trafficking, suffering of the widows in the South East will come to an end. There must be a cultural design that can accommodate the widow.

A design that would make the girl-child comfortable wherever she is in this country. She doesn't have to leave her country to go and prostitute elsewhere, it's not her portion. Her portion is to have a highly standard and moral society for her to live in. Get married, have children, train them and also mould them to become the future leaders.

"We are here today to also let you know that the collection of your PVCs is important and don't ever sell it. It's like selling your future. If you sell it for N5,000, you won't see N5,000 again until after four years which will be bad. Get your PVC, vote for APC, vote for freedom, vote for a new Nigeria with good security, good education, good healthcare, good roads and all the basic necessities." She concluded.

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party yesterday issued a press statement via their State Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya on the gross sins President Goodluck Jonathan has committed against the state.

Ikanya said: "These, amongst other wicked acts against Rivers State for
reasons only to be explained by President Jonathan and his managers explain why we will do everything humanly possible to ensure that this man who has run aground our economy will never continue in office beyond May 29, 2015.

He continued "For the record, President Jonathan is from Bayelsa, a sister State to Rivers. He is married to Dame Patience Jonathan, who is from Rivers State and having schooled in UNIPORT and lectured in the State before joining politics; one would have expected him to be a key factor in any election in Rivers State after the State gave him the highest number of votes in the 2011 presidential election but, shockingly, he will be the greatest undoing of his party in the 2015 general election."

The 25 sins
1. President Jonathan failed to muster the courage and political will in a PDP-controlled National Assembly to see to the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) in the over six years of his administration to demonstrate his hatred for the Niger Delta region knowing that communities in Rivers State will benefit from the bill.

2. The East/West Road, especially Eleme-Onne axis in Rivers State, has not only been abandoned but is a nightmare to travellers and commuters.

3. Bodo-Bonny Federal Road is completely abandoned just because it is situated in Rivers State.

4. Refusal to refund to the State Government over 90 billion naira used in the dualisation of Ikwerre-Owerri Road approved by late President Yar'Adua and other Federal Roads in the State executed by the State to ease the sufferings of the people of Rivers State.

5. Wickedly stopped Train 7 at NLNG Bonny and the loss of jobs to our people and revenue to Government.

6. Non-implementation of UNEP Report on the clean-up of Ogoni land despite
all the pleas by our people and the International Community – just to punish the Ogonis and Rivers State irrespective of their overwhelming support for him during the 2011 elections.

7. Lack of any visible Federal Government project in Rivers State throughout his over six years as President of Nigeria. Instructively, of all the states President Jonathan has visited in the course of his re-election campaign, it was only in Rivers that he could not name a single development project he initiated, not to talk of executing.

8. Ceding of oil wells belonging to Rivers to Bayelsa and Abia states to ensure that the revenue accruing to the State is reduced to nothing.

9. Abandoned construction of the Port Harcourt International Airport after completing other airports started at the same time with it. The airport has thus become an eyesore. Pictures of the current state of the Airport attached explain the level of hatred President Jonathan has for Rivers State and her people.

10. Turning the Port Harcourt axis of Enugu-Port Harcourt Express Road into a death trap. The pictures attached of the bad state of the road explain everything.

11. Posting and encouraging the excesses of the tyrannical Police Commissioner Joseph Mbu during his inglorious days in the State.

12. Supporting the impunity of daily killing, maiming of members of Rivers APC by the Police under the watch of Dan Barure

13. Supporting every imaginable act of impunity in the State, including the plot by five State Assembly members to impeach the Speaker in a House of 31 members.
14. Seizing and grounding the planes of the State for no just cause.
15. Harassing and intimidating the duly elected Governor of Rivers State for no just cause and even supporting the splitting of the Governors Forum into two just to ensure that Governor Amaechi, who was duly elected by his colleagues, does not have an easy reign as the Chairman of the Forum.

16. Refusal to allow the Governor to construct the Federal Road that leads to the Kalabari Kingdom just to ensure that during the rainy season the Kalabaris will not have a road to their place.

17. Forcefully taking over the 50,000-seater Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
Incidentally, his party could not mobilise enough supporters to fill the stadium during his rally even after hiring supporters from Bayelsa, Abia and Akwa Ibom states.

18. Refusal to refund the State the money used to construct the smooth, beautiful dual carriageway from Omerelu to Port Harcourt–particularly up to the Airport Junction from Owerri in Imo State, which the Federal Government abandoned just because Rivers State people ply that road.

19. Refusal to refund the money used by Rivers State to construct the Ahoada/Elele Alimini Federal Road and the interchange (Flyover) at Obiri Ikwerre.

20. Refusal to attend to the poor state of the Onne – Port Harcourt component of the East/West Road. This is the road that services the Port Harcourt Refinery from where petroleum products are supplied to the South East and parts of the South South. That is the road that leads to the Onne Free Zone and to Okrika, the home Local Government of Dame Patience Jonathan, Nigeria's First Lady.

21. Turning a blind eye while his party continues to kill, bomb and disrupt our rallies.

22. Against the spirit of equity, unity, justice and fair play, President Jonathan imposed Chief Nyesome Wike from the Ikwerre tribe as PDP candidate, knowing very well that the incumbent Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, is also of Ikwerre extraction and that if Chief Wike wins the next election – but God forbid! – Ikwerre tribe would have governed Rivers State for 16 years to the detriment of other tribes and sections of the State. This shows that President Jonathan and his unjust party do not wish Rivers State any good.

23. President Jonathan released all the N25 Billion that accrued from the principle of derivation from the five Soku Oil Wells that rightly belong to Rivers State kept in reserve for Rivers State and Bayelsa State were all paid to Bayelsa State his home State to prove his hatred for Rivers State

24. As a President, President Jonathan has continued to under fund the NDDC to ensure that Rivers State and in extension the Niger Delta region is not developed, till date, N500B owed by the Federal Government is yet to be paid to the Niger Delta Development Corporation (NDDC)

25. Refused to empower and fund the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs initiated by the Yar-Adua's administration. The Minister of Niger Delta recently stated that the N41.7B due to the Ministry is not paid and it is affecting the 90 percent of the projects initiated by the Ministry just to ensure that projects to be executed by the Ministry in Rivers State and other Niger Delta States are not executed
