Three months after it was expelled from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) for failing to honour three matches and in accordance with the competition's rules following their banishment to Ilorin over violence in their home game against Enugu Rangers leading to the abandonment of the match. Giwa FC have been asked to return to the NPFL. They were reinstated following an interim order from the Plateau State High Court.
The League Management Company have stated that "processes to reschedule matches concerning (the) Jos side (are) now being activated as directed by (the) Plateau State Court."

Former captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Joseph Yobo, will be playing in the last 12 games of the Nigerian Premier Football League in his new role as NPFL ambassador. The announcement was made on the twitter handle of the League Management Company (LMC) the body responsible for organizing the Nigeria Professional League (NPFL).


This news is coming less than a month after he was appointed the Special Assistant on Sports Development to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike. The 35 year old Yobo holds the record for most caps in the history of the Nigeria national team.

A delegation of the Spanish League, La Liga Board arrived Abuja, Nigeria today to seal a partnership pact with the League Management Company (LMC)The two Bodies signed a memorandum of understanding for a partnership that will cover exchange of knowledge, trainings  for Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Club Coaches and Administrators, La Liga and NPFL Clubs’ exchanges, marketing, commercial, promotional activities and Youth Development.

For their impressive display against Niger on January 18, 2016, the League Management Company (LMC) has presented a cash gift of $10,000 to the home-based Super Eagles. Recall that the squad, thrashed their neighbours 4-1 at the beginning of their CHAN 2016 campaign.

The presentation was made at a dinner organised by the Nigerian Chancery in Rwanda, the 2nd Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

“The LMC, club owners and all the stake holders of the league appreciate your excellent display tonight (Monday). We are proud of the team. You guys have been good ambassadors of the league and I have been mandated to present this cash as reward for your hard work,” The chairman of the LMC, Shehu Dikko said.

In a bid to immortalize one of Nigeria's legend, Late Rashidi Yekini, the League management company have named the yet-to-be unveiled highest goal scorer trophy for the NPFL after him.

The chairman of the LMC, mallam Shehu Dikko made this know in a statement on the league's website.
"There is a broad plan to institute awards and honour outstanding players, officials, key stakeholders and fans in the league at the end of every season and there are a number of factors that led us to reach the decision to name one of these awards, that of the highest goal scorer after the late Rasheed Yekini," said Dikko.



"The awards is part of strategic plans of the LMC to create commercial value and additional revenues out of the assets
inherent in the league property. "We considered the aspiration factor which seeks to let the players know that they too can become national heroes if
they achieve excellence and make a success of their career.
"It says to them that they too can become legends of the game and the society will honour them as we have sought ‎to honour the late Yekini," he concluded.



Rashidi Yekini was a prolific striker and he bagged 37goals for the Super Eagles in 58appearances.‎

The supervisory body of the Nigeria Professional football league, League Management Company (LMC) has fined shooting stars of Ibadan the sum of #500,000 (Five hundred thousand naira) for security lapses in the restricted area which led to the assault of visiting Enyimba's coach, Kadiri Ikhana during their match day 13 league game.

In the same vein, the LMC also announced that Kadiri Ikhana had been fined #100,000 (one hundred thousand naira) for displaying an "unruly and unprofessional" behavior during their match day 16 game against Aba Warriors.

Club officer of Taraba Fc, Fada Dennis, who was found guilty of assaulting referee Bala Mohammed after match day 14 game against Shooting Stars in Makurdi was also sanctioned by the LMC. He has been suspended from all activities of the NPFL for the rest of the season.
