Actress and producer, Uche Jombo has reacted strongly to Ooni of Ife’s wife opinion on gender equality.  Speaking over the weekend in an Emerging Women’s Forum in Maryland, USA, the monarch's wife opined that men and women can’t be equal because each gender play different roles in life. ..

Read Uche Combo reaction to Olori Wuraola-Zynab Ogunwusi's sentiment below :

‘Dear Olori, The reason you can hold a microphone and speak in public rather than at the backyard of the palace cooking jollof rice while your husband travels the world, is because of women like you who fought for us to live life and enjoy it equally like anyone else.

‘Your Royal Highness, do not be deceived, your belief in this revolution has absolutely no bearing in its movement. Stand tall, behind the king, watch as more women understand this concept, watch as they break the glass ceiling, reaching straight for the moon… and beyond…in their Louboutins.

‘If I work for 3 hours and a man works for 3 hours, we both deserve to get paid the same,’ and ‘If a man’s virginity cannot be tested on the wedding night, mine shouldn’t be tested as well’ are some of the points the actress used to drive home her call for equality.

FYI let’s not mistake gender roles for gender equality. I believe she was clearly talking about roles / responsibilities as a woman hence my repost about learning the right meaning of Gender equality.’

The war train currently touring the Nigerian entertainment industry has made a stop at Nollywood. The latest drama is being scripted by Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha and fellow colleagues, Uche Jombo, Omoni Oboli, Blessing Effiong and Ufuoma Mcdermott.
It all started with a tweet from Chioma yesterday sparking rumours of a beef between herself and the other women. The sultry actress shared a picture of her colleagues with the caption " Sometimes...sisters aren't REALLY sisters! #2016MindingMyOwnBusiness #StayingOnMyLane #MovingOn"

The attention of Uche Jombo was drawn to the post and she swiftly tagged other people who were

mentioned in the tweet. Embedded image permalinkThree of them replied.... But Uche's reaction was more captivating. Lol.

I bet most people don't know she has a school. The first set of students at hardworking actress, Funke Akindele's Scene One School of Drama, a sub unit of Jenifa Foundation established in 2011 graduated yesterday 19th December, 2013. During her keynote address, the accomplished thespian commended the graduands on their hard work and perseverance and having successfully completed their programs. She also urged them to believe in themselves, spread their wings and use the tools they have sharpened to carve a niche for themselves in the entertainment industry.

Present at the event include some of her friends and colleagues; Eniola Badmus, Tiwa Savage, Eldee, Uche Jombo, JJC, Segun Obe, Ariyike Akinbobola, Feyikemi Olayinka and Dammy Krane. She also presented prizes to best graduating students in major courses plus roles in her next flick, Everybody Loves Jenifa.

By the way, I learnt candidates can enrol with a minimum Secondary School Certificate of Education (SSCE) qualification, so if you're really cut out for the drama thing, you can apply.
