Maverick designer Louis Vuitton has confirmed its decision to partner with renowned perfumer Jacques Cavalier-Belletrud (behind the likes of Issey Miyake's L'Eau d'Issey, Jean Paul Gaultier Classique, Opium pour Homme and more recently, Stella McCartney L.I.L.Y) to work on a new fragrance.
It is worthy of note that Louis Vuitton marketed three fragrances in the 1920s-1930s but later discontinued it.
According to Cavallier-Belletrud who began work on 3rd January, "Joining Louis Vuitton is an honour and a pleasure, It is a unique and particularly exciting adventure, all the more so as I share the Maison's values: respect for expertise, craftsmanship and the choice of the finest materials. The Maison's Heritage is also an inexhaustible source of inspiration."
The fragrance will be distributed exclusively via Louis Vuitton boutiques.
