The late football legend, Rashidi Yekini was finally laid to rest at his Ira, Kwara State hometown amidst torrents of tears by family members, sympatizers, colleagues&friends.
"The last time I saw my Dad was last Tuesday and we spoke very well. I'm going to miss him. He is the best father in the world," Yemi Yekini, daughter of the late footballer.
Dignitaries who came to pay their last respect include members of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ike Shorunmu, Oyo Sports Commissioner, Dapo Lam Adesina, Mutiu Adepoju, Dimeji Lawal, Ajibade Babalade as well as representatives of Governors of Osun, Oyo, Kwara who (the three) made a cash donation of one million naira each.
According to reports, while some were happy at the gesture, others deemed it belated, they claimed it would have been used to treat his ailment.
