FIFA has showered praise on Nigerian club, Enyimba FC over their 7th   league title. This was conveyed in a letter signed by the acting president of the body, Issa Hayatou. The People’s Elephant as widely called recently emerged champions of the 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League season.


 “It gives me great pleasure to send my heartfelt congratulations to Enyimba and their indomitable team on this great achievement. This title is the result of the determination of everyone involved and my congratulations go to the players, the coach, the entire technical and medical staff, and the fans.On behalf of the entire football family, I would like to thank Enyimba for helping to spread the positive message of football.” The letter read.

The host country for the 2017 edition of the Orange African Cup Of Nations (AFCON 2017) is Gabon.

The announcement was made few minutes ago by Confederation of African Football (CAF)  President, Issa Hayatou.

Group D: Burkina Faso, Uganda, Botswana, Comoros

Group E: Zambia, Congo, Kenya, Guinea Bissau

Group F: Cape Verde, Morocco, Libya, Sao Tome

Group G: Nigeria, Egypt, Tanzania, Chad

Group H: Ghana, Mozambique, Rwanda, Mauritius

Group I: Cote d'Ivoire, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Gabon

Group J: Algeria, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Seychelles‎

Group K: Senegal, Niger, Nambia, Burundi

The group winners and two best second placed teams join hosts Gabon for finals

Qualifying starts on the weekend of June 12-14.
