Talk about quitting when ovation is loudest? 24hours after leading the Super Eagles team to African Cup of Nations (AFCON) title, Steven Keshi has reportedly resigned as coach of the national team.

Though there's no word from the Nigeria Football Federation yet but sources, one of which is SuperSport presenter, Robert Marawa, revealed on twitter that the former football defender handed his resignation after the game.

"Stephen Keshi has just announced that he handed over his resignation letter after the game exclusively on 083Sport@6With Marawa on MetroFM"

Keshi who captained the Super Eagles team to its title in 1994 has become the first Nigerian to lift the trophy as a coach, the first black African manager in over 20 years to win the continental championship, and only the second man to claim the title as a player and a coach.
