More than 40,000 readers of the poll gave him‎ 33% of the votes, Juventus legend Gianluigi Buffon came second in the poll with 19%. Ex-Manchester United goalkeepers Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar pulled 10% and 9% respectively. Others included‎ Oliver Khan (8%), Petr Cech (7%), Nelson Dida (4%) and Victor Valdes (3%).
