Messi and his father to stand trial on three counts of tax fraud

This sad development is coming few days after he was cleared of the charges charges. According to Daily Mail, a Spanish court today confirmed that Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi and his father Jorges are to stand trial on 3 counts of tax fraud that might even come with jail terms. The Judge rejected declined the request of the public prosecutor to try only his father. He and his father allegedly created fake companies in Belize and Uruguay and also defrauded Spain's tax office of €4m (now £3m) of unpaid taxes from 2007-2009.
