Messi to appear in court on June 2

Lionel Messi’s tax evasion case will be revisited on June 2. The Barcelona star will prove his innocence on tax fraud charges leveled against him by Spanish authorities.

Recall that the Argentinean and his father, Jorge Messi were charged with three counts of tax fraud worth €4.1million dating back to a period between 2007 and 2009. He had trial date scheduled between May 31 and June 3.

He is expected to participate in Argentina’s Copa America opener against Chile scheduled for June 6.
