Portuguese soccer giant, Cristiano Ronaldo has broken the record for the most European Championship appearances. The Real Madrid forward recorded this feat after he was named in the starting line-up for Portugal against Hungary.
The 31 year-old who made his 17th appearance in the tournament surpassed Edwin van der Sar and Lilian Thuram's 16 appearances. In a new development, the 3-time Ballon D’or winner netted twice against Hungary, he has now become the first player to score in four EURO tournaments. He now has a total of 8 Euro goals.
