Soccer giant, Lionel Messi has equalled Argentina's all-time goalscoring record. Messi, who started for the first time in the tournament after three substitute appearances achieved this feat after his side's 4-1 win over Venezuela in a Copa America quarter-final on Saturday.
The Barcelona forward's strike in the 60th minute took his career tally for Argentina to 54 goals, levelling Gabriel Batistuta's record. Meanwhile Argentina who will now face USA at the semi-final on Wednesday are in prime position to win the Copa America.
