La Liga: Real Madrid close to setting a new record

Real Madrid registered their 13^th consecutive La Liga win yesterday after a thrilling 3-0 encounter with Real Sociedad in their opening league fixture. Euro 2016 star, Gareth Bale netted a double and Marco Asensio scored once to get the Los Blancos off to a perfect La Liga start. 

It’s their second best run in the competition after their 1961 squad recorded 15 wins in succession. With 3 La Liga wins on the rot, (16), the Zidane-led men could find their way into history books again and break the record set 55 years ago.
