The duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale will miss the Los Blancos clash with Espanyol in Catalonia on Sunday, coach Zinedine Zidane has confirmed. While Ronaldo has a sore throat, Bale is suffering from a hip problem.

"Cristiano will not travel with us, he has a sore throat, and he will stay at home. He is not ready. He took a big blow to his hip the other day. With so many games to play, we cannot take risks.

"I want to have Gareth at 100 per cent for a very difficult game on Wednesday. He might have got a bang in the same spot and be out for 10 days, or more."
The frenchman continued, "If Cristiano, Gareth and Karim are at 100 per cent, then they play. But that does not mean they must always play. We have many games.

"My idea is to always rotate, so that players think at any moment they will be called to play. They all need to play, that's my idea."

Real Madrid's Gareth Bale is enjoying his stay at the club but he has admitted he could return to the Premier League later in his career. he could return to England in the future. The 26 year-old attacker who has been severally linked with premier league return moved from Tottenham to the Spanish capital in 2013 for a world-record £83million fee.

He told The Mirror, "My plan when I first started playing football was to try to reach the pinnacle – and Real Madrid is the pinnacle. Now I’m here, I want to win trophies and to win titles, and just do the best I can for my career. I will never say never when it comes to going back to the Premier League, because you don’t know what the future holds. But I am enjoying my time here. I am very happy.

"I had conversations with Rafa Benitez in the summer and I am delighted about where I am going to be playing this season.I like the role behind the striker and feel that’s my position. I can drift into areas, find the space and, when I get the ball, I can attack. It’s my best position – and I think this year is going to be a great season."

The welsh winger noted that he isn't inspired by individual trophies rather team success motivates him.

"I feel like I am capable of achieving that because I know my ability. I wouldn’t say winning the Ballon d’Or is my aim or my goal because, for me, it isn’t really about individual awards. It is about winning the Champions League and La Liga – and when you do that, the other things come.

"When I won the PFA Player of the Year award at Spurs, I never thought at the start of the season that I wanted to win that trophy. It was just play, play, play, do as well as you can for the team, try to score goals and make assists, and whatever happens at the end of the season happens."

Gareth Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett has claimed that his client and Cristiano Ronaldo do not have any problem with each other despite wide speculation that they hate each other.‎ Barnett admitted that albeit the pair are complete opposites, they don't harbour any resentment towards each other.

‎He told the Guardian. "They don't go out eating every night together, but it's fine. There's no hatred there. Gareth is a quiet guy. They're complete opposites.‎ But I think Gareth can learn a little bit from Ronaldo as well, interacting maybe a little bit. He has some very good endorsements but his whole life is to be the best footballer in the world.

"I don't think he wants to be the best model in the world or the best underwear seller. That's not him."

He added: "I think that the new guard is coming and there's some resentment, perhaps, to that. But I think things will change. I've always said it, I think he'll be the best player in the world in the next couple of years."

Why do I see the 'best model and underwear seller' part as a subtle sub (insult)?

I got this on twitter and the tweep who posted it said Rafa Benítez met with Real Madrid star, Gareth Bale before playing in the Euro 2016 qualifying match involving Wales and Belgium and possibly tried to talk him into staying at Bernabeu to prove his mettle. But really, I think that kind of 'motivational' talk can't be done standing and in a hurry.

Anyways, the only goal of the game which took place in Cardiff was delivered by the Wales talisman. And it has been described as the most important goal of his career.

Poor Bale! The Real Madrid forward has been a subject of heavy criticism at the Bernabeu since his form dropped. Booed at teammates during training, booed at fans and now attacked. The Welsh star was attacked by irate fans as he sped away from Valdebebas training ground following the club's return from Barcelona.

He missed a chance to warm his way back to his fans' hearts on Sunday as his goal was disallowed after teammate Cristiano Ronaldo was found in an offside position.

The ex-Tottenham star also received backlash from Spanish press, Marca who claimed that Real president Florentino Perez had paid €100million for a player worth €20m.

The club has however issued a statement condemning the incident, threatening it will take legal actions against "aggressive and violent actions against several of our players"

Real Madrid star, Gareth Bale may be loving life in Spain but there are certain things he's not enjoying.
The first is being booed by his teammates in training and the sight of Spanish spiders.

The ex Tottenham player opened up in an interview with Four Four Two Magazine.

"The one thing you don't want is to be on the end of is a nutmeg. Whenever someone gets nutmegged, we're all jumping and joking around.

If you get 'megged, or you go 20 passes without touching the ball, you stay in for an extra go. They'll do anything to keep you in the middle."
The world's most expensive player ‎cannot stand the sight of spiders too.

"I call out to somebody, anybody, to come and deal with a spider, just so I don't have to."‎ He declared ‎

Asides the fact that his team has not done badly so far, Netherlands winger, Arjen Robben has added another achievement to his list. He is now the world's fastest footballer. The Bayern Munich talisman achieved the feat in the ongoing World Cup tournament. Last friday, on June 13, 2014 to be precise, he recorded a speed of 37km/h, the fastest ever clocked by a footballer during his team's clash against Spain.

The record was previously held by Arsenal's Theo Walcott who ran a recorded speed of 35.7km/h sometime in September 2010. The 25 year-old England player however congratulated him on twitter, "Robben, Congrats for beating my clocked speed but thought it looked a bit downhill. #SpeedMatters".

FIFA has released it's list of the fastest footballers in the world. A Manchester United player came tops! Not Wayne Rooney, Van Persie, Evra or other big names in the Red Devils' squad. Its Antonio Valencia. I'm sure no one was really looking towards his direction.

FIFA determined this based on the highest recorded speed of a player in a game whilst in possession of the ball. With a speed of 35.1 km/h, Valencia beat the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Franck Ribery and co.

Another Ballon d'Or shortlist has been drawn up. Trust me, it's going to be as fierce as ever. Unlike the past editions where few or no Premier League players get nominations, 5 EPL players are included in the 23-man shortlist. The Coach of the year category contains some really prominent names, the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho and Del Bosque are most people's favourites.

Anyways, I see either Lionel Messi, who's clinched the award four consecutive times winning the 5th or Frank Ribery who inspired his club, Bayern Munich to win the Champions League, Bundesliga and German Cup and was later named
UEFA's best player in Europe for the
2012-13 season to nab it. The winner will be unveiled on January 13 in Zurich.
