Past and present Liverpool players graced Anfield today for a charity match held in honour of the Steven Gerrard today. Like I mentioned earlier, proceeds raised in the game is going to the Liverpool FC Foundation, Alder Hey Children's Hospital and other charitable organisations in Liverpool.

Roll call of players who starred in the matcg include Fernando Torres, Luis Suarez, Didier Drogba, Henry Thierry, Xabi Alonso, Mario Balotelli and many more.

The game ended ended 2-2. Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard scored two penalties for his side while Mario Balotelli and Chelsea's Didier Drogba scored for Carragher's side.

Old Liverpool stars made a sensational return to Anfield today for a charity match held in honour of Steven Gerrard who's leaving the club after this season.
Proceeds from the Steven Gerrard v Jamie Carragher game will go to charities in Liverpool.

This news will gladden Liverpool fans hearts....for a short period though cos their return to the English club is only for a day. Sorry!


Liverpool heroes, Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres, Pepe Reina, Dirk Kuyt, Xabi Alonso, Henry Thierry, John Terry & Drogba will return to Anfield to play in a charity match.

The star studded charity game which comes up on March 29 has been organized to celebrate the departure of captain Steven Gerrard who quits the club at the end of the season. Proceeds from the match will go to charities.
