Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has attributed his managerial success to the tutelage he received under the late Johan Cruyff at Barcelona. He disclosed this during the launch of the autobiography of the Dutch footballer who passed away on March 24th, 2016.

“Without him I wouldn’t be here. I know for sure this is why I am, right now, the manager of Manchester City and before that Bayern Munich and Barcelona. Before he came we didn’t have a cathedral of football, this beautiful church, at Barcelona. We needed something new. And now it is something that has lasted. It was built by one man, by Johan Cruyff, stone by stone. That’s why he was special.

“I would not be able to do what he did. You hear all these people saying, ‘Oh Pep, what a good manager he is.’ Forget about it. Cruyff was the best, by far. Creating something new is the difficult part. To make it and build it and get everyone to follow? Amazing.

“That’s why, when I was Barcelona manager, I went to see Johan many times. I made especially sure I went a lot in my first year when we won everything, absolutely everything.”

The Spaniard admitted he knew nothing about football until he met the legend.

"He was the most influential person in football history. He changed not one club. He changed two clubs – as a player and a coach. It’s impossible to find another guy like this. OK, he did it at Ajax and they won the European Cup when Michels was there – but the player was Johan.

After that he was a coach there and then he came to Barcelona. It was a big club but it didn’t have a specific football culture. We had one Argentina coach who played an Argentinian style, then came a German coach who played a German style. But then Johan arrived and he said: ‘Guys, now we play this way.’

Call him  a style king and you won't be wrong.

Guardiola discusses 'Manchester, music, football and lots of rain' in his interview with GQ

That Manchester City player, Pep Guardiola has a keen and undeniable sense of fashion is one fact that is eternally closed for debate.

On several occasions, he's been seen on the touchline looking smart and dapper in bespoke and well-fitted suits. On some nights, he sports well-fitted overcoats and his separate jacket and trouser combinations having never been a disappointment.

The City boss is the on the cover of the October edition of the Spanish GQ magazine and he looks nothing short of amazing. The 45 year-old donned a navy blue shirt and trousers for his cover shot, with the strapline 'Guardiola on Manchester (music, football and lots of rain)'.

Bayern Munich player, Xabi Alonso has done an appraisal of his former boss, Pep Guardiola who now holds the forte at the Etihad Stadium.

In three months in charge, Guardiola has won all of his 10 competitive matches and even equalled the record set by former coach, Carlo Ancelotti and this has left the ex-Real Madrid player in awe.

He told Marca."Pep has a natural talent to understand football and to then transform that understanding on to his players."

"He likes to have the ball and for his players to show courage and you can just feel this. What he has done at Manchester City over the past two months is amazing. The desire his players have to prove themselves to the fans and the coach is the result of Pep's work. He is very demanding and methodical."

Photo published for "If Pep Guardiola wants a war, then he can have one" says Toure's agent

Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk has issued a response to Pep Guardiola’s apology demands. Angered by Dimitri’s comments about him, the Spaniard today issued an ultimatum to the midfielder saying until his agent apologizes to the club, his teammates and the trainer,Yaya is out from the team". Well, Yaya’s agent has fired back, stating conditions for tendering his apology.
“What do I need to apologise for? Guardiola wins a few games and he thinks he is king. I live in Europe so I can say whatever I like and Guardiola can’t stop me.
“Okay, I will apologise to Guardiola if he will apologise to Pellegrini for what he did to him. If you are a gentleman, this just does not happen.
“Pellegrini signed a new contract last year and then he gets pushed out for Guardiola to come in. Pellegrini was a gentleman.
“Guardiola also needs to apologise to Joe Hart. It is not normal and it is not right to come to England and to get rid of the few English players. When you come to a country you must respect the country and respect its people.”

He continued, “When Yaya went to Man City, they could only dream about the Champions League. The biggest stars in Europe did not want to come to City, but Yaya came. They weren’t a big club. After he arrives they started winning; two league titles, cups and now the semis of the Champions League. I want Man City to win everything; to win all their games because it means more trophies for Yaya. City have great players, but Guardiola wants new future for Yaya, for Hart…and they won’t be the last. I respect managers like Claudio Ranieri who achieve without spending so much money on players.”

The recent nasty comments Yaya Toure’s agent, Dimitri Seluk made about the club’s manager, Pep Guardiola definitely didn’t go unnoticed by the latter. A week ago, Seluk accused the ex-Barcelona coach pf humiliating his client (during their spells at Barcelona) adding that he hopes the Ivorian gets a chance to prove himself at the English club. The 33 year-old who just retired from international duty has made one appearance for City this season and was dropped from Champions League squad, sparking .
If (Guardiola) wins the Champions League for City this season then I will travel to England and I will say on television that Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the world. But if City don’t win the Champions League then I hope that Pep has got the balls to say that he was wrong to humiliate a great player like Yaya.Yaya is a professional and so he will do everything he is asked to do.What I can tell you is that Yaya will spend the season at City. He will not be leaving in January. He hopes that he will get the chance to prove himself.

In Man City’s press conference today, the Spaniard Pep made it clear that Yaya Touré will not play again for City until the club receives an apology from the agent.

'It was so difficult for me to leave him out of the Champions League, so difficult. I know him and I know he's a good guy.'The day after his manager spoke and in that moment Yaya is out. Except Mr Dimitri Seluk comes back in the press conference or to his friends in the media – because he hasn't the courage to call me, he goes to the media – and apologise to Manchester City first of all, then his team-mates, and afterwards the trainer. 'When that happens Yaya will be part of the group and he will have the chance to play. I cannot accept as a coach every agent (who) when his player doesn't play he goes to the media and speaks. I know how much Dimitri Seluk loves Yaya Toure. If he loves him, show me by apologising to Manchester City for what he did in the papers.

'I cannot imagine in my day when a player's agent would go to the media and speak against Johan Cruyff. Maybe it's the new era but I'm old generation, and an old generation agent has to make his players his job and the coach his job.'Today agents believe they are more than they are. If you have a problem, we can talk. Until he speaks, Yaya isn't going to play.'

 The former Bayern boss affirmed.

Guardiola (centre) says he will have a glass of wine with Mourinho if he is offered one

The Manchester Derby is one of the hottest topics discussed in football circles right not. The reason isn’t far-fetched. The managers of both teams would go head to head for the first time since taking reigns at their respective clubs. Downplaying his rivalry with Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola said he won't turn down an offer to share wine with the Portuguese. "I’ll accept (wine) if he invites me.  I have a lot of respect for him. I learned from him, it's as simple as that. 'He was my coach, the assistant with Bobby Robson. OK it was not easy at Barcelona. We met each other two weeks ago at the manager's meeting and we spoke with Koeman, Pulis and so on.

And his expectations in the forthcoming game, the former Bayern Munich manager added, 'I want to control the game, concede few counter attacks. I would like to play the way we did in the last five games. United are getting better, like us. They have a lot of talent. Martial is so fast, Mata in between the lines. Set pieces with the tall guys it is impossible to control. They are a top team.'

Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola has left Ivorian midfielder, Yaya Toure out of his squad for the Champions League group stages.

Rangers midfielder, Joey Barton is far from impressed with Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola over his treatment of Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart. Hart wasn’t included in the starting line-up for Pep’s first matches in charge amidst claims he will soon be replaced with Barcelona goalkeeper, Claudio Bravo.

The former City player considers Pep’s actions towards the player who has spent 10 years at the club disgusting. He told talkSPORT. "It is not the club I left. The club I left and watch now are two totally different organisations. The club I played for wouldn't have treated a player that had been a servant for as long as Joe has in the manner that it has. It is common human decency, regardless of how good a coach you are. Why treat him like that?

He continued, "He is a full international, somebody who, probably before City took the money, could have gone on to bigger and better things himself but stayed and wanted to be at City. I don't see what he has done wrong to be treated the way he has. His attitude isn't terrible. I don't like this. I've watched Caballero and are you telling me Caballero is better with his feet than Joe Hart? I haven't seen it. Why not let him fight for his place and then if he is not good enough say: 'I have given him an opportunity'. That's what every manager should do, give everyone an opportunity."

Braydon Brent, a 7 year-old Manchester City fan got the shock of his life after finding himself at the back of a taxi with the club's new manager, Pep Guardiola.

In The YouTube video which was titled 'Pep's Taxi', he had believed he would be sharing the ride with CityTV presenter Chappy, but he later found out that there was an unexpected VIP guest on board. After settling down, the chap then asked where  the former Bayern Munich boss series of questions. He started by asking where City would keep all their trophies.

"Now we've got you, we're going to win them all. We're going to win all the trophies... where are we going to put them all?" He said

Guardiola replied: 'Are you sure? Okay, we're going to try.'

Then came another impossible request

"I know Messi's your friend, You might give him a call and see if he wants to join us and have a fun time?'

The 45 year-old has always been practical when it comes to Messi- City talk. So his reply was expected.

'Would be nice huh? But maybe it's a little bit difficult.'

After the little boy was done with the grilling, he helped him get his seat-belt on at the start of their journey and then took selfies with him.

PSG star, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed the difference between the coaching styles of Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiol. The Swedish player played  under both managers during his spells at Inter Milan and Barcelona in 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 seasons.

"Mourinho is the disciplinarian. Everything with him is a mind game — he likes to manipulate. Such tricks were new for me — all the time doing one thing to get another thing, all the time triggering me. I like these games and it worked for me; I became top scorer under him and we won the league. As long as it works and as long as we win, it’s all good with me.

"The way Mourinho prepared for games was also new to me. I would get pumped up, believing the story he would feed us. I went through a lot of adrenaline when I played for him. It was like nothing was ever good enough. He gave and he took. Jose Mourinho knows how to treat a footballer, but Carlo knows how to treat a person.
"After Mourinho I went to Pep Guardiola, the big brain in football. He had all these solutions for every team we played against, knowing exactly what we needed to do to win, exactly how he wanted it achieved. We could be winning 2–0 at half-time, but he would say, 'We’re not finished here. I want three, four, five, six, seven.' He was like a machine."

If I stay working with Pep Guardiola, if he wants me, he’s just going to be a lucky man because I will be really hungry,” the Frenchman said

Ivorian football star, Yaya Toure's agent, Dimitri Seluk is concerned about his client's future at his present club if Bayern Munich boss, takes over from Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the season. Guardiola sold Yaya Toure during his spell at Barcelona and he's worried the same scenario might unfold again in England. Seluk maintained that managing both Barcelona and Bayern Munich hasn't been an uphill battle for the Spaniard, he has however challenged him to prove his coaching ability with a 'smaller' team, probably one at the 8th or 9th wrung of the EPL ladder and make them Champions.

Few days ago, the former Barcelona boss confirmed his intention to manage the premier League but has left us guessing the destination his managerial bus is heading to. Top 4 guesses in the football world include Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Dimitri Seluk told the Sunday Mirror: "Pep is a great coach But he has won the title at Barcelona and Bayern Munich. The truth is that my grandfather would win the title with Barcelona and Bayern Munich because they are big clubs with great players. I'd like to see Pep take a club that is eighth or ninth and make them champions."
He added. "I don't know what Guardiola's plans are, but - after what happened at Barcelona - of course it is a worry that when he comes Yaya will be out. I hope not and Yaya hopes not."
