Morocco international, Marouane Chamakh is still harbouring a grudge against his former boss, Arsene Wenger. The 32 year-old forward who signed for Cardiff City earlier this week revealed that the French manager did not give him much chance to prove himself at Arsenal, adding that he showed him a lack of respect.

The former Crystal Palace player who joined the Gunners in 2010 scored a total of 8 goals in 40 appearances before leaving three years after. Chamakh revealed he counted on Wenger’s promises to him but left after the coach overlooked him.

He told RMC, "When I started, it went really well. I took advantage of Van Persie's injuries, which cleared my path. I played for six months, I scored goals, I contributed. In January, Robin came back from injury and overnight I found myself on the bench without any explanation.

"Yes, obviously I'm a little bit annoyed with [Wenger], because I think I deserved more playing time than he gave and promised me. The year passed and at the start of the next season, he told me that the tactical system would perhaps change and that I would maybe start with Robin. It was only promises. There was nothing at the end of them.

He continued, "That year, Robin was incredible, he was player of the year. I couldn't say anything, and I wasn't going to go and see Wenger and tell him that I should be playing instead. Robin was a lot better than me.

"For the ambitions I had, I think it was a little bit of a lack of respect. I had started well, and overnight he forgot about me just like that.

"He asked me to be patient, told me that Robin wouldn't play more than 10 matches in a row, that he would get injured, but it lasted the whole year. There came a time when I had to make a decision and I left the club."

Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho attended a UEFA managers' conference over the break

This is many shades of funny.

Arsene Wenger reignited his beef with Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho today after he refused to let the latter sit beside him at a UEFA managers' conference.

 Here's a report from Dailymail.co.uk.
Mourinho arrived late at a speech being delivered by an Old Trafford great, Sir Alex Ferguson. Spotting a seat opposite Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery and Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane and next to Wenger, the 53-year-old asked if he could occupy the space. Without batting an eyelid, Wenger replied: 'No, it isn't possible.' Wenger is regarded as having 'won' the exchange, with other managers in the room laughing at his response to the Manchester United boss.

Wenger needs to chill.

Arsène Wenger at White Hart Lane

Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger  insists the title race isn't over despite dropping points last weekend in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.
“The Premier League is far from being over. Just to remind you, we have beaten Leicester twice so we have done our job against them. People have to look at other teams more, not just us on that front. We will not give up the Premier League, we will fight until the end.
"We had a performance [at Tottenham] where we took only one point and the three were possible. [But] we have shown the mental response that everyone wanted from us.
“When people question the spirit it doesn’t mean they are right. Our spirit was questioned after Swansea… we can only go on the pitch and do our job, no matter what people say.
"What people say should not influence us. They have to be influenced by our desire to win the game and by giving our best.”

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has been named Barclays Premier League manager for the month of October. His side has been in top form this season, snatching 4 wins and 11 goals.

"It is always good because it just reminds you that - especially after a defeat like we had on Wednesday night [5-1 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich] - we have not done too badly in the last month. You worry as well about maintaining the run for coming months. That is what we want to do always." The Frenchman said.

Designer jackets and suits, who knew the Frenchman was this dapper? Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger recently had a photo shoot and lengthy interview with L'Equipe's Sport and Style magazine.

One interesting claim he made during the new interview was that he brings out the 'beauty in man'.
'In the religious world, it is said that God created man. I am only a guide. I allow others to express what they have in them. I have not created anything. I am a facilitator of what is beautiful in man.

He continued, 'I define myself as an optimist. My constant battle in this job is to bring out the beauty in man. You could call me naive. At the same time, it allows me to believe in that and, more often, proves me right.'

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has implored Real Madrid striker, Cristiano Ronaldo to be less fixated on his personal achievements. The Frenchman’s advice came on the heels of Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent claim that he is better than his Barcelona nemesis, Lionel Messi.  The 63 year-old coach  believes that Ronaldo’s obsession with individual accolades could ruin his career.

He told reporters, "He is the best player in the world - with Messi. Messi has a little advantage on assists. But I would go for nobody because it is not my problem at the moment. I’ve seen careers being destroyed because players are too obsessed with individual rewards. I can tell you that maybe another day but it encourages selfishness. And it encourages people inside the game to go more for their own gain when others are in a better position. You can be No.1 in the world in March and no.250 in May. Sport is always moving."

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is obsessed with his archival, Arsene Wenger. He (more recently) never misses an opportunity to throw shades at the french man.

The Portuguese coach has branded his recent fine and one-match stadium ban by Football Association (FA) fine a "disgrace" after being ordered to pay £50,000. He was handed the hefty punishment yesterday after he claimed officials were afraid to award his team penalties after referee Robert Madley denied Chelsea a penalty during their 3-1 loss to Southampton.

The 52-year-old said that it could  have only been worse if he was made to wear an electronic tag.

"I'm happy I don't have an electronic tag. £50,000 is a disgrace. The possibility of getting a stadium ban is astonishing."

"Afraid costs £50,000. Weak and naive - you can do it," He added, taking a dig at the Arsenal coach who was unpunished for calling Mike Dean "weak" and "naive" following Arsenal's 2-0 defeat by Chelsea last month. "We can push people in the technical area. We can, no problem." He chipped in.

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has reportedly separated from his 59 year-old wife, Annie. Although they have been together for a long time, the couple's union was consummated ‎in year 2000 and have not been together since June of this year.

The 65 year-old once mentioned that his job was taking its toll on his marriage. He was quoted thus in 2008.

"Ten years ago I said to my wife Five more years and that's all', and I am still here.‎ It is difficult to find time to see them but there are jobs [which are worse]. You have guys who leave for work on Monday and come back on Friday. In my job I travel, but the problem is not so much the quantity of time you spend with your family, it is the quality.

Daily Mirror reports that the 65-year-old has filed papers in Strasbourg, France (for separation not divorce) and they have agreed a financial package on how to divide their assets. Arsene and Annie have an 18 year-old daughter.

Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger has reacted to a suggestion by the club's legend, Henry Thierry that the Gunners could win the league if they signed Benzema from Real Madrid this summer.

"I respect Thierry Henry a lot for his football knowledge but it's not as mathematical as that. I believe we can win the league. We look when we go forward like we can score goals. Even when we were dominated in the second half against Chelsea, every time we crossed the halfway line it looked like something could happen.

"I think we have to develop our collective game and we have to depend less on one guy that comes in and scores all the goals. I don't see why a player like Oxlade-Chamberlain should not have an ambition to score 10 goals, Sanchez can score goals and Ozil has to fix himself a target of at least 10. We can share that more than when Thierry played. I think Giroud will not be far from 20, if he had played all of last season he would have scored 20. Walcott as well."

‎Asides being over dramatic, unpredictable is another word you can use to describe the self-acclaimed Special One. With the fracas he had with the Gunners boss last year, who would have thought he could say something good about the later.

The Chelsea boss while speaking with Sky Sports' Goals today expressed his surprise that Arsenal aren't title challengers despite having a great squad.

"I don't understand why they are not up there with Chelsea and Manchester City, Arsenal are a team I like very much. They have very good players and Alexis Sanchez is a very important player to add to what they have got. I don't understand why they are not up there with Chelsea and City. Arsenal are a team I like very much. They are a team for more."

And then he goes ahead to hail his touchline rival, Wenger.

"He has a dream job, everyone would love to have the security he has of being manager year after year after year. He won so many titles in a certain period and that gave him that credibility he deserves.

He is obviously a fantastic manager. He has a fantastic situation to be successful. When you look at the players in the squad, they are capable of playing very good football."‎ He added.

I know that one idea on your head, that Mourinho told Arsene Wenger not to face his team again? Nah! Not it. He has no power over that. So, the 2014/2015 series between the old foes have begun. Sit back, relax and read. The reaction is from the former Madrid Manager, we'll wait and see if the frenchman will come up with his this week or some...day.

To those who watched The Blues. Vs Gunners game which ended 2-0 in favour of the former yesterday, saw the heated touchline bust-up between the two managers and were itching to hear what they were saying, the Portugal ace has revealed it.

He told Sky Sports 1 "For me, it is over. But the technical area is very clear - I have mine, he has his and he cannot come to mine, especially to put pressure on the referee to give a red card to my player. So I just told him 'leave my technical area and don't come back please'."

On the referee's performance, the Special one said: "I think the referee, from a technical point of view, had a fantastic performance in a difficult, technical, fast match with lots of runs behind - also the linesmen had a difficult game and I think they did a fantastic job."

Arsenal manager, Arsène Wenger thinks it his unfair to blame German star, Mesut Ozil for Arsenal shortcomings. The Frenchman maintained that the Gunners have lost only a game since April 1 and the least anyone can do is to support the World Cup star.

"Why should he be a scapegoat? For what? We've lost one game since 1 April. Let's be realistic, We have come out of a very difficult preparation period with decisive games. We had very difficult games against Besiktas. I don't know - a scapegoat for what?"

"What is difficult to manage today is that everybody knows absolutely everything and everybody judges people definitely on one game. You have to accept that football is played by human beings who have ups and downs like you have in your life.

"You have plenty of tacticians in the world who have managed zero games. You have to accept their opinion - they might be right, they might be wrong as well. They have to accept that. We live in a world where everybody has an opinion and we have to live with that. At the end of the day, somebody always has to make a decision and that's the guy who is responsible."

"They should not be concerned and just support him. I understand that you want your best players always to make the difference in every single game and we all go through periods where we are a bit less good," he concluded.

"I don't know about second place. I think that Nigeria might qualify for the second stage. They really made a good impression on me during the African Cup of Nations. They seem to have a really good team spirit, which is not always easy for African teams. They have less star players. They have a real team, and it's been a while since that happened for them." He stated.
