Asides the fact that his team has not done badly so far, Netherlands winger, Arjen Robben has added another achievement to his list. He is now the world's fastest footballer. The Bayern Munich talisman achieved the feat in the ongoing World Cup tournament. Last friday, on June 13, 2014 to be precise, he recorded a speed of 37km/h, the fastest ever clocked by a footballer during his team's clash against Spain.

The record was previously held by Arsenal's Theo Walcott who ran a recorded speed of 35.7km/h sometime in September 2010. The 25 year-old England player however congratulated him on twitter, "Robben, Congrats for beating my clocked speed but thought it looked a bit downhill. #SpeedMatters".

FIFA has released it's list of the fastest footballers in the world. A Manchester United player came tops! Not Wayne Rooney, Van Persie, Evra or other big names in the Red Devils' squad. Its Antonio Valencia. I'm sure no one was really looking towards his direction.

FIFA determined this based on the highest recorded speed of a player in a game whilst in possession of the ball. With a speed of 35.1 km/h, Valencia beat the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Franck Ribery and co.

Galatasaray striker, Didier Drogba's fans will now have the opportunity to read everything they want to know about their hero. Just like the likes of Samuel Eto'o, Frank Lampard and Theo Walcott, the Ivorian is warming up to launch his comic book. Titled 'From Tito to Drogba' (Tito being his childhood nickname), the cartoon series will chronicle the former Chelsea star's childhood days and his successful football career in Ivory Coast and England.

"It is a fun way to learn lots of things about me and to show young people that, if they do what I did, they can achieve their objectives. The most important thing is to show you can exceed your dreams. For me, football has become my job, my way of making a living, and that in turn has allowed me to meet many famous people, to be a UNICEF ambassador". The 35 year-old told sports reporters.

Gabin Bao, the 36 year-old Ivorian behind the project said Drogba was open to the idea of the book.

"I met him several times after we did the deal and he really liked the idea of sending a message to young Africans. Some people say I've made him too perfect. But he is like that. He is very careful about his image because he has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders."

The book will be released in Turkey, where his current club is located; Brazil, ahead of the World Cup and in Britain where he is most revered especially among Chelsea fans.

Arsenal winger, Theo Walcott walked his childhood sweetheart, Melanie Slade down the aisle last week in Italy after dating for 9 years. Footballers hardly stay glued to their childhood girlfriends not to talk about tying the knots with them. Maybe it's not only footballers, maybe it's everywhere.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, the handsome England footballer stated, 'It's fantastic to be able to finally call Melanie my wife. Now we're excited to see what the future holds for us. I don't think marriage will change our relationship - I hope not anyway, as it was already everything I could have wanted.'

"That moment when I saw Theo waiting for me at the altar was so overwhelming. Your emotions are all over the place - you're so excited and euphoric because you're marrying this person who you love so much, but there are some nerves there too because it's such a big step.' His sports Physiotherapist wife revealed.

Such a cute couple! Wish them tons of marital bliss!
