Prominent Cameroon footballer, Samuel Eto'o has been recalled by Turkish club Antalyaspor following his suspension after making racial comments on social media.
Several days ago, the 35 year-old  wrote on his Instagram account: “Perhaps some people do not feel respect for me because I am black.”

Although he didn't specify the target of   his criticism, the post was believed to have been aimed at Antalyaspor chairman Ali Safak Ozturk who criticised Eto’o for his performances earlier this season.

The former Barcelona player have however been forgiven. Ozturk said he was recalled after expressing regret for the remarks. The former Chelsea player was included in the side to face Galatasaray in Istanbul on Sunday. He came in as a substitute in the 29th minute.

3 ex and current Nigeria internationals; Mikel Obi, Kanu Nwankwo and Austin Okocha have been named in the top 10 African Richest Footballers list.

The study was conducted and published by French publication, Footendirect. I really don't believe Okocha and Kanu are richer than Mikel. What is however difficult to ascertain is if the list was drawn up before or after Kanu’s recent setback.

It's not like there's something really special about this photo or a hug but if you got Samuel Eto'o's "fool" and "puppet" memo few months back, (and then the Thank You remark this week) you would understand why I shared this photo.

It's their second contact (the first was a handshake) since Samuel left Chelsea. And seeing them smoke peace pipe is so super cool. Mourinho's tongue though.....
By the way, can we have the Special One and CR7 do this?

And the stars keep pulling the plug. Everton striker, Samuel Eto'o has called it quits on his international football career. The Cameroonian who made his debut at the 1998 World Cup at the age of 17 made the announcement on his official twitter page.

"I inform you that I am ending my international career. Thank you to all Africa, and to all my fans for your unconditional support." The former chelsea player wrote.

During his career in Cameroon, the 33-year-old won gold at the 2000 Olympics and two Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2000 and 2002. He also participated in the Brazil World Cup 20014 and was excluded from Cameroon's AFCON 2015 squad list.

You can never understand Eto'o. One minute he's ballistic the other minute he's something else. Months after he labelled his former boss, Jose Mourinho a "fool" and a "puppet" for making comments regarding his age, the newly-signed Everton striker has thanked the Portuguese Manager for integrating him into the Premier League.

The Cameroonian international told reporters, "The only thing I have to say about Jose Mourinho is to thank him. It's down to him that I had the opportunity to be accepted and integrated into the Premier League and I want to thank him for that. I'm not particularly concerned that it's against my [old] team [on Saturday]. The important thing is to integrate into my new team-mates' way of playing and get ready for that match. If I don't feature it's just important to get ready."

Former Chelsea player, Samuel Eto'o has joined Everton on a 2-year free transfer deal. He will wear the No 5 shIrt at Goodison Park and be paid £130,000 a week. The Cameroon international tweeted, "'Officially an Everton player...!!! Let's get ready for a new and ambitious Challenge!!!'

The 33 year-old added. " I have been very impressed by the style of play Everton adopt. I could see straight away that at this club I will have the opportunity to play football. I had the chance to speak with the manager over the last few days and we agreed that this was what we would do.

'I was impressed with his enthusiasm but also by the knowledge of football that Roberto Martinez carries, his vision of football and how he reads football. I still think I can learn a great deal from him here.'

Everton coach, Roberto Martinez wrote, "For someone who has achieved nearly everything, he still has the desire he had at 15 when he went to Spain and showed what he could do. For many reasons he has got a point to prove. We are very excited and I think Everton is the perfect home for him. The fans will make him ready and feel sharp but we have got to be a bit patient with the fitness levels and make sure he is back to his best.'

Cameroonian player, Samuel Eto'o is reportedly wanted for questioning by French police. His offence? His french ex-girlfriend, Nathalie Koah has accused him of posting intimate pictures of her online- an offence not taken lightly in France.

Koah also accused the former Chelsea player of human trafficking, indecency, publishing obscene content, pimping, threats, blackmail and false declarations.

Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas and Samuel Eto'o were never fans of Chelsea FC at some points in their lives, not to talk of dreaming of wearing the colours of The Blues. Below are some anti-Chelsea quotes they spewed few years back. Well, tables do turn. And what do we have today? They are all Chelsea players now (well, Samuel has left); talk about eating back their words!

Eden Hazard: "With all respect to Chelsea, I'd rather join a club with history such as Liverpool or Arsenal".

Samuel Eto'o: "I'd rather sell peanuts in my village of birth, rather than playing in a club as pathetic as Chelsea".

Cesc Fabregas: "If I ever wear a Chelsea shirt, you have permission to kill me"

Let's face it! Jose Mourinho's "age" comment about Samuel Eto'o really hit the striker below the belt. Less than a week after branding the Portuguese a fool, the Cameroonian has fired another parting shot at Chelsea Manager, Jose Mourinho. The message isn't really different from the previous one, the four-time African Player of the Year has just decided to change the superlative.

"Contrary to what a puppet says about my age, I am still physically fit. At 33, I feel really good. I have proven that I can do better than the younger players. And I wish to also say that I am not going to the United States or to the Middle East. I will continue at the top level. I will continue to play the Champions League.

The ex-Inter Milan player continued, "My romance with this competition is far from over. I will not tell you where, but I will be at the top level. I am 33 and I have two World Cups to play. There are other players who went on until the age of 41 so there is no reason why I cannot continue."

Apparently Samuel Eto'o didn't get over the unguarded "age" comment targetted at him by Jose Mourinho few months back. I promised not to write about the Chelsea boss in the next few months, but how can you stop talking about a person who has "rented a space" in the spotlight.

The 33-year-old during a short interview with africanfootball.com labelled his coach a fool and NO it didn't sound like a slip of the tongue.

"Today, I am 33 years old. And it is not because a fool called me an old man that you must believe it. And you may have noticed that the old man was better than the youngsters. Some believe I am going to retire in the United States or in the Middle East, but I have regained the joy of the Champions League and I am going to carry on playing in the Champions League.

He continued, "Where? I am not going to tell you. But I am going to carry on playing because physically and mentally I feel great. So I am going to go to this World Cup and to the next one when I will be 37. Some did it at 42, so I can still play in two more World Cups."

With that said, you can be sure that the days of the Cameroonian who scored 12 goals at Stamford Bridge this season are numbered. This drama will be incomplete without a Special response from the Special One. But can someone hint him of the latest development?

Consistent, reliable and dependable, Samuel Eto'o should be seen as a crucial and vital part of Chelsea's squad. Eto'o's performances, particularly in the second half of the season, deserve a great deal of credit and recognition. The often-understated Cameroonian has scored nine goals in 21 matches this season, many of them coming in Chelsea's most vital matches. Last month, he opened the scoring in the 4-0 drubbing of Tottenham and in the 6-0 hammering of Arsenal.  He also opened the scoring against Galatasary at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League second round. Back at the end of December he scored the second goal in Chelsea's 2-1 win against Liverpool, and we cannot forget his brilliant hat-trick which destroyed Manchester United in January! In contrast to his striking team-mates, Demba Ba has scored five goals in 18 matches, and Fernando Torres has managed a meagre four goals in 27 matches. Clearly, Eto'o has been Chelsea's best and most trusty striker this season.

Eto'o is a highly experienced and clinical striker. He is a constant nuisance to defenders, making intelligent runs and dragging defenders out of position. He loves playing on the shoulder of defenders, so often finding space in behind defences, with his opponents struggling to mark him effectively. His pace, acceleration and willingness to run at the opposition makes defenders quake in their boots. Never shy to shoot, Eto'o almost always hits the target. His ice-cool composure and finishing make him deadly in front of goal. Samuel Eto'o is the type of player defenders loathe playing against.

The lure of plying his trade at Chelsea was an offer Eto'o couldn't refuse, and he reportedly took a huge pay cut– down from £20 million to £8 million on a one year contract. The commitment he showed in signing this contract is something Chelsea fans shouldn't forget.
The seasoned veteran would be an asset to any side. The Blues should be thankful that they have Samuel Eto'o in their ranks, a player always capable of producing quality when it matters. Maybe in the coming weeks we will see just how valuable Samuel Eto'o is.

Three-time African player of the year, Yaya Toure during an interview on Football Focus segment on BBC World News made a case for undervalued footballers in Africa. Toure who has netted a total of 22 goals this season for his club, Manchester City says African footballers deserve to be celebrated like their European counterparts. The 30 year-old UN ambassador believes the media has a major role to play in the recognition/celebration of African players.

"To be honest, proper recognition has only come from the fans, I don't want to be hard and I don't want to be negative, but I want to be honest. If we play well and we don't have the recognition from the media, we are not going to be where we want to be. If you go to any part of Africa now, people will say, 'yes, we know Messi, but when you come to Europe and say 'Yaya Toure' people will say, 'who is that?' Some will say they know my name but not know my face. But they will know Messi's face." He stated

Citing the likes of Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto'o who are un-appreciated despite their significant contributions at their various clubs. The Ivorian believes they also deserve to win the Ballon d'Or award, adding that there has only been one African winner of the award, which is former AC Milan and Liberia striker George Weah who won in 1995.

"Those players are more than legends for me and Africa. I am very proud to be African, I want to defend African people and I want to show to the world that African players can be as good as the Europeans and South Americans."

Footballers too have been bitten by the selfie bug. Infact, I think they should do it often, especially after they win their matches, tough matches. Not sure a selfie would be a good idea after a cold defeat, who would pose for such? Okay, it's pretty alright to pose as long as the picture doesn't appear on social media/their angry fans don't see it.

Brazilian/Chelsea defender, David Luiz posted this pic of him and his team-mates; Samuel Eto'o and Willian in a happy mood after yesterday's victory over PSG. "God is great! Tk u everyone." He added.

Chelsea striker and former Barcelona player, Samuel Eto'o has opened up on his relationship with his former boss, Pep Guardiola while at the spanish club. The Cameroonian revealed that during the 2008/2009 season, the incumbent Bayern Munich coach spoke to him on few occasions and used other players to communicate more.

"I first of all reminded Guardiola that he'd never been a great player. He was a good player, that's true. I told him. As a coach, he had proven nothing. He came in and didn't even know the story of the dressing room. Guardiola has never had the courage to say things in front of me. He passed by the players. Xavi told me they wanted me to stay but I had to talk to Pep. I say "never, if you do not respect me, I do not respect you. There were three occasions when he spoke to me that season.

One was when he wanted me to speak to Yaya Toure, who didn't want to talk to him either. Another was when he told me how to move like a striker. I told him: "You're not normal!" The true story is that Pep didn't respect the things in football.

He shook hands with me when I was at Inter and I played against Barca, but this was just for the cameras and TV. Behind the scenes before the match, he did not greet me.'

Galatasaray striker, Didier Drogba's fans will now have the opportunity to read everything they want to know about their hero. Just like the likes of Samuel Eto'o, Frank Lampard and Theo Walcott, the Ivorian is warming up to launch his comic book. Titled 'From Tito to Drogba' (Tito being his childhood nickname), the cartoon series will chronicle the former Chelsea star's childhood days and his successful football career in Ivory Coast and England.

"It is a fun way to learn lots of things about me and to show young people that, if they do what I did, they can achieve their objectives. The most important thing is to show you can exceed your dreams. For me, football has become my job, my way of making a living, and that in turn has allowed me to meet many famous people, to be a UNICEF ambassador". The 35 year-old told sports reporters.

Gabin Bao, the 36 year-old Ivorian behind the project said Drogba was open to the idea of the book.

"I met him several times after we did the deal and he really liked the idea of sending a message to young Africans. Some people say I've made him too perfect. But he is like that. He is very careful about his image because he has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders."

The book will be released in Turkey, where his current club is located; Brazil, ahead of the World Cup and in Britain where he is most revered especially among Chelsea fans.

Court charges have been opened against Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o after a Spanish public prosecutor accused him of conspiring to evade €3.5m in taxes owed on income from his image rights when he played in Barcelona between 2006-2009.

The three-time African footballer of the year who presently plays for Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, is accused of four tax offences, each punishable with up to five years in prison and a fine of €21m.

The Prosecutor stated that the former Barcelona player allegedly created companies in Hungary and Spain, and used them to channel income obtained from ceding his image rights to Barca and Puma; deduct personal expenses, such as payments for his mortgages, furniture and expenses related to his luxury.

Eto'o and his club are yet to respond to the allegations.
